Jim Scott is the Managing Partner of Royal Pacific Consulting Group serving clients around the world. Most recently Royal Pacific has been conducting pre-purchase due diligence reports for financial institutions with an interest to buy all or part of a commercial air service. Currently, Jim is serving on a Transport Canada aviation safety group as the co-lead, and he conducts pilot examinations for Transport Canada pilot licences and ratings. Jim was previously the vice-president of flight operations for Central Mountain Air, and the president and CEO of Canada Jetlines. He is an experienced pilot having flown aircraft from float planes in Northern Canada to the Boeing 747-400 for Cathay Pacific Airways. Jim currently holds a current ATPL, a Class One Instructor rating and has over 10,000 hours of flight experience. Jim was a senior security planner for the 2010 Vancouver/Whistler Winter Olympic Games. He also led the Vancouver Police Financial Crimes Unit, specializing in cybercrime, illegal corporate money diversion and consumer fraud. For two years, Jim served as a director for the Air Transport Association of Canada (ATAC) where he developed a defined understanding of the cost pressures placed on Canadian airlines by other industry stakeholders.
Jim has created major aviation business plans with proper corporate governance that have successfully led to fully funded private and public financial offerings.
